Jack Taylor School Autism Resource Base clip_image007 is proud to announce the nationally recognised award of Accredited Status in Autism from the National Autistic Society.

The accredited status means that the JTS Autism Resource Base has been identified as providing a standard of excellence in both policy and practice and has developed a system of self assessment and development to enable continuous improvement in the service they provide.

We are extremely proud of the hard work that school staff and, in particular the Resource Base staff have achieved to ensure all pupils with autism receive the highest level of support and provision.

We are thrilled that we are now one of the small numbers of schools across the country to receive recognition for excellent practice.

We are excited about working with parents, carers and professionals to build on our achievements and develop further success in the future so that we can be recognised nationally for our provision for pupils with Autism.

EXTENDED SCHOOLS.

Thank you to all parents and carers who gave their time to answer our survey questions regarding extended school provision. We will be analysing the results and using them to work with the Local Authority to look at ways we can improve the Extended Schools provision for our pupils.

SEAL : THE THEME FOR THIS WEEK IS: “Being Happy”

Why not share a preferred song or game with your child that makes them happy? You could reinforce to them that laughing and smiling is often an expression of being happy.

Open Afternoons at School for Parents, Carers, and Families.

We are hoping to organise some open afternoons for parents and carers to drop in to classes and watch or take part in activities. We want parents and cares to find out more about what your child is doing at school and give you some ideas to support our work at home. We realise that it is not always easy to get into school but we will do all we can to support you. This will be the week of Monday 12th October. We will send a timetable to all parents and carers shortly.
