SEAL :        THE THEME FOR THIS HALF TERM IS: ‘FRIENDSHIPS’

What emotions do we feel when we think about our friends?

New Staff

We are please to welcome new staff to the school that will be joining the therapy teams.

Patrick Carpenter is joining us as the new Physiotherapy assistant. Patrick has worked at the school before so is knows the children and staff. He will be starting the post full time.

We have a new Occupational Therapist joining our school called Emily Matthews.

YOGA

We are please to say that a yoga club has started on Friday lunchtimes. We are also fortunate to have primary and secondary workshops in Yoga running on Mondays. We hope to develop staff skills from this and be able to carry this on at a regular basis.

Trampoline.

We are thrilled to have an indoor trampoline at school. The physiotherapists have introduced Rebound therapy sessions to develop pupils’ balance, reflex and gross motor skills. Their work has started in the primary department and has initially been received positively and with great enthusiasm.

Grants

We are please to have won some funding from the Aiming High and Extended services. The money will be used to develop parent / carer facilities and information services and we hope to set up a sensory and sensory integration borrowing service for pupils and their families and after school clubs.
