Parental Views – new section of the newsletter

Unfortunately we had a limited response last week to our questions about how safe parents and carers feel their child is in school.

Your views are really important to us. Please take the time to fill in the parental views section of the newsletter and return to school as this helps us to make informed decisions about school improvement and working in partnerships with families.

 

 

Finger Nails

We have had some incidents of pupils being scratched by others. We would appreciate your support with ensuring that your child’s finger nails are cut short regularly.

 

Parent Support Group Meeting – Wednesday 3rd February 2010

The next meeting will focus on “Support Services for Siblings”. There will be 2 guest

speakers; Suzy Mullay (manager of the Disabled Children’s Team at Mosaic) and

Shelly Sheiff (family Information Service). The meeting will be at school.

9.30 – 11.30am – ALL WELCOME

 

 

 

 

Classroom Observations

In order to monitor teaching and learning we are carrying out classroom observations this week. Each class will be observed delivering a lesson and the senior leadership team will feedback and report on good practice. These observations form an important part of our school improvement cycle.

 

WAC

Some pupils attend WAC after school club and holiday club.  Some of the students from WAC have put together a website. Please take a look @

Providers meeting at Jack Taylor School

Last week saw all the youth service providers meeting at school to discuss the extended services and support that we offer to our pupils. We hope that as a result we will be able to offer more opportunities to pupils to access after school and holiday provision.

 

Camden Information Day

An event for parents and carers of children and young people with disabilities or special needs

 A flyer will be available at the parent meeting on Wednesday and sent home shortly.

 

 

British Museum Project

As part of the engaging places project Red Class are working in partnership with the British Museum to encourage pupils with sensory difficulties to explore sounds, sights, textures and smells at the British Museum. This project is running this half term.

 

TAXI DRIVERS TEA PARTY Sunday 31st January 2010

We would like to extend a big thank you to all parents, carers and families who came to the taxi driver’s tea party on Sunday. A fabulous time was had by all!

 

 

 ££££££££             RECIPE BOOK – School Fundraising Project            £££££££££

We are going to put together the Jack Taylor School Recipe Book which we hope to sell in order to fundraise for the school. We want the recipe book to reflect the cultural diversity of our school. We would like every parent, carer, professional or friend to contribute their favourite recipes that they would like to share. If you have a recipe that you would like to share please send it into school either copied out or marked in a book which we can photocopy and return to you.
